By totally ignoring the respondents they aren’t interested in, women and men are creating a climate in which many just don’t bother to write anymore. My appearance won’t please everyone, but I have enjoyed the company of several of the unfortunately more aggressive types, not the right personality match for me. Yes, I admit I responded to those I found most attractive but in my defense, not those who tried to look like hookers. I suppose it depends what one is looking for.
So, the real issue, as always, is to find a balance between appearance and personality. The internet, just like the bar scene, would probably have given Charles Darwin a lot to think about.
Darwin said something to the effect that Ignorance begets Confidence. Shallowness and bad taste seem to thrive in these environments. There are probably better places to meet good people.
Possibly your attitude of just waiting and choosing attracts the most aggressive alpha males who are not the personality type for you either.
