A. Affirmative sentence
A. Affirmative sentence:-
Formula: - sub+ v2 + obj.
Eg:-
- I wrote a letter.
- You bought a scooter.
- He drank coffee.
- She sang a song.
- They built a house.
B. Negative sentence
B. Negative sentence:-
Formula: - sub+ did not + v1 + obj.
Eg:-
- I did not write a letter.
- You did not buy a scooter.
- He did not drink coffee.
- She did not sing a song.
They did not build a house
C. Interrogative sentence
C. Interrogative sentence:-
Formula: - Did+sub+v1+obj.
Eg:-
- Did I write a letter?
- Did you buy a Scooter?
- Did he drink coffee
- did she sing a song
- did he build a house?
D. Negative sentence
D. Negative sentence:-
Formula: - Did+not+sub+v1+obj.
Eg:-
- Didn’t I write a letter?
- Didn’t you buy a scooter?
- Didn’t he drink coffee?
- Didn’t she sing a song?
- Didn’t they build a house?
Uses of simple past tense:-
This tense is used for the actions at any time in the past.
Indications:-
Ago, long ago, last week, last night, last month, last year, last century, last decade, in 1947 ( any previous year), yesterday.
